Wow. Have you ever had a week full of blessings where everything just went your way? If not, I highly recommend it.

My week started out with the unexpected and exciting news that one of the tutorials that I have posted here on Refashionology was to be featured on Rachel Klein’s wonderful blog, One Pretty Thing!
It’s extremely exciting when someone in the crafty blogging community notices your stuff, especially for a newbie blogger like me! So, thank you, Rachel for that!
Then on Tuesday, when I posted my Autumn Leaf Felted Scarf Tutorial, our local online daily news
publication mentioned me and my little blog in a New Media Watch article about craft. The Ann Arbor Chronicle is run by Mary Morgan and Dave Askins and has really flourished as an important source of local news. I was thrilled to get my first media coverage! Thanks, Mary & Dave!
Also on Tuesday, I was participating in the Craft Social chat on Twitter. If you don’t know about it, you should! According to their website, “Craft Social is a new concept on Twitter cohosted by Barbara Forbes-Lyons (@penguintrax) and Diane Gilleland (@sisterdiane).
Its great fun, and I’ve met some wonderful fellow crafters and bloggers on there. I’ve also learned so much about crafting that I didn’t know! So, during these chats, there are giveaways of fun prizes that have been donated by kind and generous fellow crafters. On Tuesday, I was lucky enough to answer the trivia question
correctly and won a spectacularly beautiful skein of handpainted yarn created by Mary Ann Habib and donated by the lovely Jill Carnell of Starstruck Cat Studio. Not only did Jill send me the yarn, but also included a surprise—a delicious-smelling soy wax candle that she created herself in her studio. The scent is Caramel Apple Cider and it smells as good as you think it would! Thank you so much, Jill!
On Thursday, I attended a book signing at our local Borders. Chris Guillebeau was there talking about and signing his new book, The Art of Non-Conformity. I was very excited to meet Chris because I have been following his blog and I love the ideas that he writes about—setting your own rules and living life the way you want. I was able to meet some other bloggers that were there with him as well. I’ve just started his book, but I’ll be reviewing it here on the blog when I’m done.
Finally, on Friday, I saw my partner Colleen play in her first hockey game in over 3 years. (that’s her in
the red jersey). After achilles tendon surgery on both legs, then a cancer diagnosis and 3 related surgeries, she is back on the ice. A little wobbly and rusty, but I could not possibly be more proud of her. Way to go, Sweetie!!
Wow, what a week! I am truly blessed.
